I am so far only subscribed for a month but I am so glad I did. What made me subscribe, believe it or not was the customer service, they were great. I had a ton of questions when I was browsing their website and not because I was being difficult but because I got burned by my last subscription with Pupbox. Upon receiving the first box, my decision to bite into a 6-month plan was very easily justified. Everything in the box was good quality as promised. It was a fun surprise opening the box. There were a couple of things in the box that we didn’t quite like because it had poultry, but all I had to do was email them and they sent a replacement immediately. They also explained that the welcome box is like a sample box and is in my experience whatever we didn’t want or work will be replaced, no questions asked.
Funny, I just canceled Barkbox. I repeatedly asked them to upgrade me to the heavy chewers box. The toys sent were WAY undersized for my dog and were destroyed in minutes, a few I would have actually considered choke hazards for my 90 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback (the stuffed raindrops in the ‘cloud’ toy a couple months ago). I’m trying Dapper Dog since they have an EASY to find option for Extra Large dogs and it’s easy to specify a heavy chewer right from the get go.
Because of the way people relate to their pets now (about 44 percent of millennials alone consider their pets as “starter children”), Bark is able to captivate two major audiences: dog owners and dog people. “Our audience is just people who love dogs,” said Stacie Grissom, head of content. “We start conversations about dogs and form relationships with people around dogs in general. And 85 percent of our content doesn’t even mention BarkBox specifically.”
On the 20th, I filled out a support ticket to find out what was going on and was told there are delays this month due to a change in location of their warehouse. Now, wouldn't you think the company would send out a communication to its client base at the beginning of the month letting them know there may be delays this month due to a new location for their warehouse?

Bark, the company behind BarkBox, is still using pet influencers with organic posts on social media. But it sees traditional media, especially TV, as a better deal than Facebook and a way to expose the company to a wider audience.
But the data also shows a wide range. The lower bound is under $15, while the upper bound is over $35. This means there is scope for BarkBox to “complicate” their pricing. Consumer products try and keep pricing simple to reduce the friction in the sign-up. This often leads to them leaving money on the table.
