The subscription service has already touted itself as an experience for dogs and their owners, with a new theme to each month’s arrival. Past themes have tapped into holidays (Halloween is a popular one), pop culture (including a whole box dedicated to the ’90s), and other creative ventures that often involve a good pun (including “Secrets of the Rainfurrest”). My C/S rep was nice and answered my question, but I was not happy with the answer. When we started, referred friends got a free box and we received a free box. That has changed and we were not notified. I referred a friend and they did not get a free box so they did not sign up. It made me look foolish. If I would have known I would have referred them, but not told them they would get a free first box.

Almost two years ago we tried and reviewed 7 of the subscription boxes on the market. Since then, we’ve tried boxes from another 6 or 7 companies. We’ve tried a lot of these boxes more than once. Over the last couple of years, we’ve seen about 50 subscription boxes from 14 different companies and I’ve written two comprehensive comparison posts. If that doesn’t make us experts on dog subscription boxes, I don’t know what does.
Reviews from Top Dog Tips and Gizmodo named this toy one of the top dog toys on the market. In our own tests, the StarMark Bob-A-Lot came in a close second to the Wobble Wag Giggle Ball. The Bob-A-Lot has the benefit of dispensing treats and dogs loves its wobbling action, but the Wobble Wag Giggle Ball doesn't need to be refilled in order to keep your dog's attention.
I have been subscribed to Barkbox for over a year and will be a customer of theirs forever. Their customer service is one of the best I've ever experienced. My dog never liked toys, but I ordered him a Barkbox and now he actually plays with toys! I'm so happy that I found this company because my dog gets so excited every time he sees me bring inside the Barkbox. The box is also a great value.

I love coming home and seeing the BarkBox on my porch. My dog, Duke, also loves it when he sees me bring it inside. It's the highlight of the month for Duke. Im glad to have come across this article of reviews of the different pet boxes I am getting a gift for someone and a box for my little girl she just lost her grand father misses him and would have got another for my male Samoyed but he just passed away due to my vets mistreatment he was a National Specialty Show dog of the country and top number 2 Sammie in the country several times.

My Lab/whippet mixed pup Nora (45 pounds, 8 years) rarely cares for any kind of traditional dog toy. She’s intimidated by toys that squeak, and toys that hit the floor with a loud thud. She doesn’t play fetch unless other dogs are around. However, she does take to treats meant for chewing. After trying bully sticks (hurt her gums), antlers (made a terrible sound against her teeth), and others, I came across the Himalayan Dog Chew: a softer chew made from yak and cow milk. It’s still tough enough that it lasts her a few days of on and off chewing but soft enough that I’m not worried it’ll hurt her mouth. Once the chew reaches the last nubbin—which you don’t want your dog to swallow whole—you can briefly pop it into the microwave to soften it into a cheesy treat.
They have 3 options. Regular, heavy chewer, which they upgrade you for free, but I recommend super chewer box. You pay an extra $9 or so per box, but they come backed with a 14 day guarantee. My two large GSDs have not chewed through a single toy from the first box we tried, in December. Worth looking into! They were also very responsive to me on the online chat, during their business hours. One chew they went through in minutes, not a toy, but a chew, and because I pay extra I was frustrated. I got an immediate reply from their online chat option, and they offered to send TWO replacement chews. Such great options! I also recommend you trying bullymake, and my favorite is DapperDog, which I was disappointed that it wasn’t even mentioned in this article. Worth looking into!

I have been a BarkBox subscriber for 4 years and have previously found them to be mildly inefficient but the billing is accurate, the toys are cute and the packaging is tidy. However, I recently placed a gift order to BarkBox and things have gone badly. I got a delivery eta of a week out. Package not received 2 weeks later, multiple (5) follow-up emails entirely ignored by BarkBox. Response that finally came cited “mass email” to all subscribers (never received, although I continue to receive lots of sales emails from BarkBox) and “ongoing warehouse inventory”, and hopes that the box will ship in the next week or so. There is no mechanism for expediting support requests, and the front line folks appear to working from scripts intended to appease and retain customers, regardless of whether or not the problem can be addressed.

I'm brand new to Bark Box and I ordered my very 1st BB for my dog on August 1st. Here it is now August 9th and no box. When I chatted with a rep I was told that the boxes are delayed due to a change in location and I would be receiving an email w/a tracking # "soon". Still no email, no tracking #. Such a disappointment from what seems to be a solid company that cares about our dogs. I will be canceling my subscription after I receive this box. If I don't receive it by next week I'll be requesting a full refund. I'm only giving 1 star because they do donate to pet shelters.


We did recently switch warehouses in July and in doing so it caused a hiccup in our system with some boxes. So some of our boxes were a little bit delayed. We are more than happy to make sure that you get that July box and check into the tracking more for you and turn this around. Then going forward I want to ensure you and your pack that you shouldn't have any further trouble with boxes. That was just due to our warehouse move for the month of July. The study also polled dog people about taking photos of their pup, and found that 20 percent of the pictures they take on their phone are of their dog – more than trips or vacations (15%), themselves (11%) or food (6%).
